I still notice on my serve contact, when my arm is slightly bent and my head facing forward as per your video analysis, my shoulder relaxes. Ocasionally I go back to stretching up to the ball and my shoulder feels the strain and yet I still hear a lot of coaches say everyone should stretch up for power. For me that one size fits all approach is not helpful. Are there any cases where you would advise a student to stretch on the serve or are there always better ways to explain the service action? |

How about contact for the forehand? Federer's arm is straighter compared to Agassi's. In fact Federer's arm appears straighter than your 'shake hands' arm position the web page. |

the same, it should be slightly bent, Federers arm being straighter is a result of his head being slightly 'stuck' at contact |

I'm glad you highlighted Federer's strained head position because many believe we need to watch the ball at contact and they like to use Federer's forehand as evidence. |
