hello brad, don cameron and p cash.
I THOUGHT I WOULD CONTACT IF I COULD THINK OF ANYTHING USEFUL TO SAY.
I DID A 1 DAY COURSE FOR COACHES,ALTHOUGH CLEARLY NOT A COACH, THROUGH THE OSCAR WEGNER SET UP(MODERN TENNIS), WHO IS MAKING INROADS IN THIS COUNTRY.WHAT IS INTERSTING IS HOW IN HIS INTRODUCTION OF ACCOMPANYING BOOK, HE IS SAYING THE SAME THINGS AS YOURSELF.
THE COURSE WAS GEARED TO TEACHING BEGINNERS.
EVERY STROKE WAS COVERED, AND STARTED ON COURT PLAYING WITH YOUR HANDS,FIRSTLY NON DOMINANT HAND,THEN PLAYING HAND.IT WAS EXTRAODINARY TO FIND YOUR SELF AS IT PROGRESSED TO USING A RACKET PLAYING A TWO HANDED BACKHAND WITH NON DOMINANT HAND AND SIDE FOR FIRST TIME.
THE KEY TO THIS METHOD, MINIMUM INSTUCTION, A FEW KEY WORDS,LARGELY TO DO WITH WHERE RACQUET ENDS UP.
IF NOTHING ELSE IT CREATED SOME SPACE BETWEEN BOTH EARS.
I HAVE JUST SEEN A GREAT SITE 2 MILES FROM WIMBLEDON TO SET UP A FOUNDATION.

Trevor,
From what I've seen of oscar wegner he's good at cutting through some of the old tennis myths and thinking creatively. In the long run I'm not sure how far a player can go exclusively on his system.

with a book entitled "play tennis in two hours" he is pretty confident of his assumptions and must have a clear method to support it.
from what I have seen it would work well with children in that it does not clutter them with instructions.
He does have an interesting cv ,and mention of experience with top level players attracts attention.whether it is the biomechanics or modern tennis route,the ultimate objective is the same, "I wish to hit forehands,backhands serves, do triple somersaults etc like federer or who ever"
